My Trading Journey: From New Mom to the VP of Options at Simpler Trading

Click here to learn more about my seasonal strategy I use to select stocks, trade, and write newsletters, next Thursday, June 4th!

Hey Traders,

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how crazy this journey in the stock market has been for me. These days, I have 3 kids and an amazing husband, and work from home in the San Juan Islands on our growing farm while I trade and teach others. I join media networks like Fox Business with Charles Payne from my home office, trade in our Mastering the Trade room at Simpler Trading, and write newsletters as I manage my positions.

These days, I’m able to maintain a flexible career, where I can wake up and have breakfast with my kids and feed the chickens and ducks while tracking my positions, going back and forth with media networks and doing my research. People ask me all the time how I’m able to do this. A lot of it comes down to the tools and systems I’ve created that allow me to do so, in addition to the determination I had to make it happen.

The Beginning of My Trading Journey

13 years ago, I never could have envisioned this life. I will forever be grateful to my father for suggesting that I get into the stock market. I look back at pictures during the time in which I dedicated myself to trading when Leo was a baby, and I still can’t believe what that simple suggestion turned into.

All I wanted to do was to be able to stay at home with my child, and independently provide a safe and healthy life for him. When he was born and I left my home and life, along with my teaching job, going back to school seemed like the best option to trade up for a higher paying career, but at that time I was thinking higher education. I considered going to law school, or getting my Masters in education. But, even that would have been difficult with a baby to take care of.

Learning to Trade Online

It made sense that I could learn to trade online while he was there. Of course, it was risky, but I’m not generally one to falter in the face of risk when I know there is a potential reward. That reward to me was being able to stay home with my child.

I never in a million years would have imagined I’d end up as the VP of Options at Simpler Trading, flying to New York City on a regular basis to join Charles Payne on Fox Business or speak at various Money Shows in Las Vegas, Orlando or San Francisco. But, here we are.

Trading Tools & Patterns

I was interested in trading because I was interested in patterns, and I knew I could recognize patterns. I also knew I have always been a dedicated student. It’s those patterns that have brought me success, and my continual honing of those that allow me to do what I do so well.

These days, life is beautiful, and I’m always working on updating and improving my strategy. For the last several months, I’ve been emmersed in creating the next, best version of everything I have done so far. This version enables to do my work with a snap of the fingers, giving me back even more time to trade, and spend time with those I love.

I haven’t done a webinar in years, as I’ve been quietly working in the background with my husband, developing what’s next. Now, it’s time to bring it to the forefront. For the first time, I’ve been able to create a custom Five Star Ranking system to go with my tool set, making it even faster and easier to do what I’ve done best for so long.

If you’d like to join me, I’ll be live at 7 pm CT tonight, where I’ll walk you through everything.
