Merry Christmas!

Hey 5-Star Trader,

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

No matter what holidays you celebrate, for me, the end of the year is a time to celebrate, spend time with family and friends, and enjoy the little things in life. Of course, this is generally coupled with some introspective thought, plans, and dreams for the coming year (more to come on this!).

For now, I wanted to send you a quick note from my family to yours, wherever you are, and wish you happiness and joy this holiday season.

This year, our son Leo turned 8, started playing baseball and soccer (the latter of which I found myself coaching!), my sister got married amidst the pandemic, my husband and I spent quite a bit of time working from home together, and we added two new bunny additions to our family:  Einstein and Cottontail.

Wherever you may be, we are wishing you health and happiness this holiday season!

One thing this pandemic has taught me is that spending time with those you care about while we go through this crazy journey called life together is what matters more than anything else. As such, don’t forget to step away from those screens for a bit! The markets will be there when we get back.

Happy holidays,

Danielle =)

Is it “Too Late” to Short?

Whenever the market is falling, people want to know whether it’s too late to short. It’s easy to think it’s too late when it’s fallen so much, but in reality, the Nasdaq is only down about 10% year-to-date. In all respects, that’s a pretty minor buy-the-dip pullback and moment in time. I wouldn’t consider a … Read more

Capitulation, Incoming…

While indexes and key sectors have been falling, there hasn’t been true capitulation in the market. This is what we generally need to hit and maintain lows on a downward move like this. However, in this case, it has been a somewhat volatile but steadier decline than anything. Today, that is changing, as the Nasdaq … Read more
