Options Trading Opportunities Throughout Earnings Season

Hey traders!

I’m so glad so many of you were able to join me at yesterday’s session after market close in our Simpler Trading Free Trading Room! I always enjoy after-market sessions, where I’m able to slow it down and cover a timely topic in detail.

Yesterday, the topic of the hour was ‘Best Options Trading Opportunities Throughout Earnings Season,’ because we are entering the Hot Zone on some of the market’s most important and market-moving tickers right now! These stocks include Microsoft, Apple, Tesla, and more. As we enter October, coming up shortly, we’ll be entering the Hot Zone (if we aren’t already in it) on stocks reporting earnings at the end of October and into the beginning of November.

When stocks enter the Hot Zone is one of the prime times that we can identify directional setups that we can trade in the options market.

What is the Hot Zone, you may ask?

It’s the timeframe pre-earnings in which many companies experience statistically backed, directional moves, as investors either bail on lackluster tickers prior to big news or attempt to gain more exposure.

But, this is only one of my favorite tradeable setups surrounding earnings season. During the State of the Market, Pre-Earnings Boot Camp yesterday, I discussed that and several more.

We also discussed:

  • Earnings & Their Impact on the Market – Why it Matters
  • Patterns & Statistics to Watch
  • Setups & Timing
  • Trading Earnings Season
  • The State of the Market going into Q3 Earnings
  • Bear Market Trends on Earnings
  • …and more!

If you missed it, check out the replay below:

It’s been a long time since I’ve participated in an in-person event! It’s been at least three years between the pandemic and having a new baby! This is why I’m looking forward to heading to Orlando in October. I’ll join the Money Show for several in-person talks and speak at our Simpler Trading Summit.  What … Read more

Put/Call Ratio, Resistance Breaks, September Seasonality, and more…

September Bearish Seasonality September — a seasonally bearish time. Except when it’s not.  The market loves nothing more than to be an equal opportunity dream killer. What does that mean? It means it crushes the dreams of longs and shorts equally, especially when the market is too long or too short. Let’s take May, for … Read more
