“Simply Amazing Women”

Many of you know me as Danielle the trader. The one who fearlessly (but let’s be real, at the time I was terrified!) moved her life across the country in pursuit of a full-time career with Simpler Trading. Seems like a picture perfect fairy tail, right? Well, I’m here to tell you it wasn’t always rainbows and butterflies.

Believe it or not, not too long ago I was living on a beach in Costa Rica with no more than a few dollars to my name.

What did I do before trading?

Before I was ever able to trade the overnight gap, or knew what a butterfly spread was, I was  an elementary school teacher in Costa Rica. I had a growing family, but suddenly I was forced to leave my life behind and start over. It was my dad’s idea to reinvent myself as an options trader. I thought he was crazy — turns out ‘father always knows best!’ Isn’t it funny how a decade ago can feel like almost an entirely different life? Sometimes when I look back at memories, it seems like watching a movie of someone else’s life.

Inspiration is all around you, after all.

Has anyone told you, ‘You are the author of your own story. Make it a good one’?

You might have rolled your eyes and scoffed with how cheesy that sentiment is (trust me, several years ago I would’ve been right there with you), but I’m here to tell you it’s true. I can tell you from experience everyone has to start from somewhere and you never know where you might end up.

Last year, after a radio appearance on World’s Most Amazing People, with host K.C. Armstrong, asked me to be a part of his next book, “Simply Amazing Women.” As Howard Stern’s former producer, he’s interviewed thousands of people over his career. During that time, he finds individuals with stories he really wants to share.

The group — Simply Amazing Women

After his first edition, Simply Amazing, became a Barnes and Noble bestseller, he was inspired to compile a collection of stories from women he considers ‘simply amazing.’

These are women that have overcome great obstacles in life, found hope through diversity and found their true calling. Sometimes when you are in the thick of it, it’s hard to see a way out, but once you come out the other side… you’ve realized it was the journey you were meant to be on all along.

This book is filled with short biographies of other women whose hurdles were different than mine, sharing their own piece of hope and happiness. And it seems like it’s May 1st release is perfect timing just before Mother’s Day, because although it wasn’t planned to come out during a global pandemic — the world sure could use some uplifting news right about now.
