This recap reflects the discussion at the time of the appearance. The stock ideas and market conditions are historical.
On June 8, I joined Charles Payne on Making Money to explain how I combine squeeze setups with earnings momentum when building my stock watchlist. We discussed Palantir (PLTR), Cloudflare (NET), Micron (MU), Taiwan Semiconductor (TSM), and several photonics names.
PLTR and NET: the squeeze candidates
At about 0:35 in the recording, we discussed PLTR and NET as consolidating squeeze candidates. The focus was identifying potential breakouts while the stocks were still building their setups.
What goes into my Five Star process?
At approximately 1:40, I discussed the combination of a squeeze, relative strength, upward earnings-per-share revisions, and volume confirmation. Those elements connect the technical picture with changes in the earnings outlook.
My June 10 newsletter on the Earnings Hot Zone adds the calendar component: identifying companies approaching earnings and examining their historical pre-report behavior.
MU and TSM: pre-earnings momentum
At approximately 2:52, Micron and Taiwan Semiconductor provided the examples for the pre-earnings portion of the discussion. The question was how to identify momentum ahead of a report, with the earnings calendar helping define the window being studied.
Photonics names in the AI supply chain
The conversation moved to Applied Optoelectronics (AAOI), Lumentum (LITE), and Coherent (COHR) at approximately 4:05. These names broadened the watchlist beyond the larger chip companies into another part of the AI supply chain.
The full replay brings the ideas together: the stock, the setup, and the timing. The June 8 appearance date comes from my original video description; the recording was uploaded June 10.
